PRNSELANGOR.MY: MEDIA SELANGOR LAUNCHES DEDICATED PORTAL FOR REAL-TIME STATE ELECTION UPDATES AND ANALYSES FOR PUBLIC REFERENCE
SHAH ALAM, 10 JULY 2023 – Media Selangor Sdn Bhd (MSSB) launched prnselangor.my, a special portal designed to provide the public with live updates and in-depth data analysis for the upcoming Selangor State Election (PRN).
The portal, prnselangor.my is the first digital initiative of MSSB and was officially launched today by the YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the launching ceremony at MSSB Shah Alam headquarters, following delivering a special mandate to all MSSB employees. The launch was witnessed by the Board of Directors and Editorial Advisory Board Members of MSSB, the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) MBI.
“As the official media arm of the Selangor state government, our mission is to bridge the communication gap between the government and the people. This portal isn’t just about speed; it’s a pioneer project for MSSB in delivering data-driven reporting and expert analysis,” said Chief Executive Officer of MSSB, Mohamed Fareed Mohamed Ashaaree.
The portal offers several features for public reference, which are live results updates, detailed stats for all 56 Selangor State Assembly (DUN) seats, comparative data including seat holders, voter demographics, voting patterns, historical results since the 12th General Election (PRU-12), and the manifestos for each contesting candidates.
The public can access the portal starting today at www.prnselangor.my via desktop and smartphones to stay ahead of the latest election updates. Detailed candidate information for all Selangor seats will be updated after the Nomination Day on July 29.
Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) has set August 12 as the voting day for PRN Selangor. The prnselangor.my portal will update all the verified results from SPR’s vote counting centre on the voting day, along with live on-ground reporting from journalists on location. Voter registration status and voting guides by SelangorTV are also available on the portal.
Beyond that, MSSB through its digital TV platform – SelangorTV also hosts a special show ahead of the PRN titled ‘Undi Selangor’, an infotainment program that features news such as PRN candidate profiles, activities, results analysis, and Selangor community news. The show is currently airing daily (Monday-Friday) at 5 p.m. on the YouTube channel (@selangortvmy) and TikTok (@selangortv) as well as all Media Selangor’s social media platforms.
Starting Nomination Day (29 July), SelangorTV will also increase its broadcast frequency to four times daily (9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 9:00 PM).
