SELANGORTV JOINS MALAYSIA’S FREE OTT STREAMING SERVICE STARTING AUGUST 1

SHAH ALAM, 1 AUGUST 2023 – To expand its viewing reach, SelangorTV joined MYTV Mana-Mana, Malaysia’s free Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming service and officially began broadcasting on the platform today, August 1.

The broadcast can be watched via various digital devices such as computer, tablet, and mobile phone through MYTV Mana-Mana at www.mana2.my and its application which can be downloaded for free on Google Play Store and App Store.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Media Selangor Sdn Bhd, Mohamed Fareed Mohamed Ashaaree, “Media Selangor Sdn Bhd, through its SelangorTV brand, is taking a step forward by establishing a collaboration with MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd to increase its viewing reach. By joining the national streaming platform MYTV Mana-Mana, audiences across Malaysia can now explore a wide range of content that Selangor has to offer.”

SelangorTV was introduced by MYTV as one of the new TV channels on their OTT platform during the launch of MYTV Mana-Mana application, which was officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industries) of the Ministry of Communications and Digital, Mastura Ahmad Mustafa, at Aeon Mall Tebrau City, Johor Bahru on July 22.

As of 29 July 2023, following its launch, the MYTV Mana-Mana application has reached over 46,000 downloads and owned 39,000 active users, with total views over 227,000. “Through the platform’s broadcast, SelangorTV optimists that the viewing numbers can be increased by attracting new viewers through a variety of programs. This is also one of our steps to improve the quality of content that will be broadcast to audiences,” said the Head of the Digital Cluster of Media Selangor, Mohamad Khairulnizam Bakeri.

SelangorTV will broadcast daily on MYTV Mana-Mana from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering a wide range of programs such as religious programs – Nutrisi Jiwa, 30 days 30 verses; infotainment programs – Discover Selangor, which showcases lifestyles, tourism, culture, and food in Selangor, and other programs namely Tanya Netizen, Respon Rakyat, Senyum, Apa Cer YB, Seloka, Skop, as well as live coverage program. SelangorTV also broadcast a special show ahead of Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) Selangor titled Undi Selangor, an infotainment-style program that broadcast daily on 7.30 a.m., 5 p.m., and 9 p.m., featuring news such as YB EXCO activity, ADUN and Selangor community.

In addition, SelangorTV also hosts a talk show and discussion specifically dedicated to PRN and the political landscape in English – Lunch On Us!, which will be broadcast live daily at 1 p.m throughout the PRN period. 

Viewers can access a variety of local and international content through MYTV Mana-Mana in high definition (HD), including radio and on-demand content at any time and anywhere. There are 17 TV channels and 15 radio stations available on MYTV Mana-Mana such as TV1, TV2, TV Okey, IKIM TV, TV6, SUKE TV, Bernama TV, TV Alhijrah and SelangorTV, as well as international channels such as TVRI, TVRI World, Horizon Sports, Motor Racing, MycinemaEurope and Enjoy TV5.

MYTV Mana-Mana provides benefits with its streaming application features that viewers of SelangorTV and other channels can enjoy, including TV channels, radio stations, and on-demand content with functions such as play, fast forward, rewind, pause, and catch-up TV for up to seven (7) days, as well as content sharing, picture-in-picture (PIP), interactive TV guide and uninterrupted streaming.
