SELANGORTV JOINS MALAYSIA’S FREE OTT STREAMING SERVICE STARTING AUGUST 1

SHAH ALAM, 1 AUGUST 2023 – In order to expand its viewing reach, SelangorTV joined MYTV Mana-Mana, Malaysia’s free Over-the-Top (OTT) service and officially started broadcasting on the platform on 1 August, today.

Through MYTV Mana-Mana, SelangorTV broadcasts can be watched through various digital devices such as computers, tablets or mobile phones at www.mana2.my and also through applications that can be downloaded from Google Play Store and App Store for free.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Media Selangor Sdn Bhd, Mohamed Fareed Mohamed Ashaaree, “Media Selangor Sdn Bhd through one of its owned brands, SelangorTV, is making strides through a partnership with MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd to
increase viewership by joining MYTV Mana-Mana’s national streaming platform by promoting a variety of content about the state of Selangor that can be explored by MYTV Anya-Mana viewers from all over the place.”

SelangorTV was introduced by MYTV as one of the new TV channels on their OTT platform at the launch of the MYTV Anywhere application which was officiated by the Ministry’s Deputy Secretary General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industries)
Communication and Digital, Mastura Ahmad Mustafa at Aeon Mall Tebrau City, Johor Bahru last July 22.

As of 29 July 2023 after its launch, the MYTV Mana-Mana application has reached 46,000 downloads and has 39,000 active users with a total of over 227,000 views. “Through broadcasting through the MYTV Mana-Mana platform, SelangorTV is optimistic that the number of viewers can be expanded by attracting new viewers through various programs that will be presented to viewers, and this is also one of the steps for us
improve the quality of the material that will be broadcast to the audience,” said the Head of the Cluster
Digital Media Selangor, Mohamad Khairulnizam Bakeri.

SelangorTV will broadcast every day on MYTV Mana-Mana from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm with a variety of programs such as religious programs – Nutrisi Jiwa, 30 days 30 verses; infohibur show – Discover Selangor which features lifestyle, tourism, culture, food in Selangor; including other programs such as Tanya Netizen, Respon Rakyat, Senyum, Apa Cer YB, Seloka, Skop as well as live coverage programs. In conjunction with the Selangor State Election (PRN), SelangorTV also broadcasts a special program called Undi Selangor, an infotainment program that brings news such as the activities of the YB EXCO, the Assemblyman and the Selangor community which is broadcast every day at 7.30am, 5.00pm and 9.00pm.

SelangorTV also brings a talk and discussion program about PRN and the political landscape in English – Lunch On Us! which is broadcast live every day throughout the PRN period at 1.00 pm.

Through MYTV Mana Mana, viewers can access a variety of local and foreign program content in high definition (HD), radio and on-demand anytime and anywhere. There are 17 TV channels and 15 radio broadcasts on MYTV Anywhere such as TV1, TV2, TV Okey, IKIM TV, TV6, SUKE TV, Bernama TV, TV Alhijrah including SelangorTV in addition to foreign TV channels such as TVRI, TVRI World, Horizon Sports, Motor Racing, MycinemaEurope and Enjoy TV5.

As a digital platform, viewers of SelangorTV and other channels can enjoy the advantages of MYTV Any Mana which is equipped with streaming application features that allow viewers to enjoy TV channels, radio stations, on-demand content with the functions of play, fast forward, rewind, pause and catch up TV for up to seven (7) days as well as content sharing, picture-in-picture (PIP), interactive TV guides and uninterrupted broadcasts.
