MEDIA SELANGOR PARTICIPATES IN HISTORIC SMG MEGA MANGROVE CLEANUP 2026, SETTING MBOR RECORD ON WORLD MANGROVE DAY

PORT KLANG, 26 JULY 2026 – Media Selangor Sdn. Bhd. (MSSB) was honoured to participate in the SMG Mega Mangrove Cleanup 2026, held at Mangrove Point, Port Klang, on Sunday, in conjunction with World Mangrove Day.

The impactful program, organized by Landasan Lumayan Sdn. Bhd. (LLSB) under the Selangor Maritime Gateway (SMG) initiative, brought together 1,615 participants from various government agencies, corporate sectors, higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the general public, and local communities. The volunteers’ participation has set a new record for the program in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the Largest Mangrove Cleanup Programme in Malaysia.

A dedicated team of 12 MSSB volunteers took part in the event, actively contributing to cleanup operations and mangrove tree planting initiatives to protect Selangor’s coastal and estuarine ecosystems. Through the collective efforts, the MSSB team successfully collected 60 kilograms of waste at the site.

This proactive participation underscores Media Selangor’s continuous commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, while fostering camaraderie among its workforce in supporting environmental conservation for future generations. Together, we preserve nature for a greener Selangor.
