MEDIA SELANGOR TO PARTICIPATE IN HAWANA 2025 CARNIVAL FOR THE FIRST TIME

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 June 2025 – Media Selangor is proud to announce its inaugural participation in the HAWANA 2025 Carnival, held in conjunction with National Journalists Day(HAWANA), from 13 to 15 June 2025 at Sunway Putra Mall, Kuala Lumpur. Organised by BERNAMA, the HAWANA Carnival is a signature event celebrating the vital role and contributions of journalists and media organisations in shaping the nation’s progress. This annual gathering serves as a platform to foster stronger relationships between the media fraternity, the public, and key stakeholders through an array of interactive, educational, and entertainment-driven activities.

For the first time, Media Selangor will be present with a dedicated exhibition booth throughout the three-day event, offering visitors a closer look at its evolving role as a trusted state media platform. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Media Selangor’s editorial content across print and digital platforms, while engaging directly with its editorial and production teams.

In addition to the exhibition, Media Selangor will be hosting a featured forum titled “Trust, Algorithm & AI: Newsrooms in the New Era” on the final day of the carnival. This timely forum will bring together leading voices in the Malaysian media landscape, including Mohamad Khairul Nizam Bakeri, Senior Editor of Media Selangor, and Hilal Azmi, Head of Social Media at Astro AWANI. The session will be moderated by Nabihah Hamid,Editor at Media Selangor. The forum will explore the evolving challenges faced by modern newsrooms, including maintaining public trust, navigating algorithmic influence, and adapting to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism.
